Google Meet integration
Automatically generate meeting links for your interview bookings with our Google Meet integration

About Google Meet
Google Meet is Google's video conferencing service, included with Google Workspace and any free Google account. It enables secure 1:1 and group video meetings directly from a browser or mobile device, with meeting invitations created automatically through Google Calendar. Meet integrates with Gmail, Drive, and the wider Google ecosystem to help teams collaborate without switching tools.
How this integration works
When you connect your Google account to Lyssna, you make it easier to schedule and run moderated research. This integration allows you to:
Generate a unique Google Meet link automatically for every interview session in your study - no separate Google Meet account to authorize.
Sync availability with your Google Calendar so qualified participants can see open slots and book a session time that works for everyone, including across multiple hosts.
Automatically send confirmations and reminders to hosts and participants.
Reschedule bookings for moderators and participants if required.
Coming soon: automatic ingestion of Google Meet recordings, so transcripts and AI summaries run on the same pipeline as Zoom — no manual upload required.
FAQ
Head to your Lyssna profile settings, scroll to Integrations, and click Connect on the Google integration. Once connected, your Google Calendar and Google Meet are both available — there's no separate Google Meet account to authorize. Then on your interview study's Setup page, choose Google Meet as the default meeting location. The Google Calendar and Meet account of the study's main host is always used.
Yes. The Google Meet integration is available on every Lyssna plan, including the free plan. Plan-gated features that apply downstream — for example, AI summaries of interview recordings on Growth and Enterprise plans — are unaffected by the integration itself.
Yes. Head to your profile settings and click Disconnect on the Google integration. When you disconnect:
Lyssna will no longer access your Google Calendar or create new Google Meet links
Existing Google Meet links won't be cancelled or changed
Existing sessions keep their meeting links
Existing studies keep their default meeting location — you can reconnect Google or choose another location at any time
We treat security and privacy as foundational. The Google integration requests only the OAuth permissions needed to run it — basic profile, calendar availability, event creation, and Meet recording access — and nothing else. Lyssna does not access the contents of your Google Drive or wider Google account. Full detail on our security information page and the Lyssna trust centre.
