In this demo video, Andrew, our Product Design Manager, walks you through Spaces and Wallets – two powerful features designed to help scaling research teams stay organized and maintain control over their budgets.

Watch as Andrew demonstrates how to create Spaces to structure your Lyssna account by team, department, or project to control who has access to sensitive research, and use Wallets to allocate and track research spending across your organization. Learn how to move studies between spaces, manage team members, and ensure the right people have access to the right research at the right time.

Whether you're managing research across multiple teams or need better visibility into how research budgets are being spent, this step-by-step guide will help you get started with Spaces and Wallets.

Hey, I'm Andrew. I'm the Product Design Manager here at Lyssna, and today I'm going to talk you through our newest release, Spaces and Wallets. So when we first started looking into this area, we spoke to a number of research teams who were scaling up, and there were a few key themes we kept on hearing. The first was it can be hard to organize your studies.

If you've got a large team with lots of studies, things get cluttered. And with no clear ownership or structure as you grow, you can see how things get messy pretty quick. The second theme was access. So a lot of teams don't necessarily want every single piece of work visible to all members or departments.

They might have some sensitive content, or maybe it's just early stage concepts they don't want to get shared across their entire org. And the third theme was budget. So it can be pretty unclear right now as to how much each team or project is spending at any given time. So that's why we built Spaces.

It's a way for you to structure your Lyssna account by team, department, project – basically, however it suits you. And so it's probably best if I just show you. So within Lyssna, you'll see over here on the left, there's a new list of all your Spaces and a way to create a space. So let's do that.

We're going to give it a name. Let's call it product team for now. And then you'll see within here there's this option of space type, and we have three types to choose from. So the first one is open, that means it's visible to everyone on your team and anyone can join if they choose. A closed space means only people who are invited can access and see what's within that space.

And the third type is everyone, which means all members of your account are part of the space and they can see everything within it. We're going to create an open space for today, and then we have the choice as to add members to that space. So. I'm going to pick a couple of people here and once we're happy, we're going to hit create.

Great. So now we have a product team space. It's empty though, so we should probably put something in it. So I'm gonna jump back to the list of all of our studies and we're going to choose this first study, which is preferred logo. I'm gonna choose the move action over here, and then I get a list of all the different spaces within our account, spaces that have projects within them.

I could choose to go directly into the space or within the project itself. Our brand new product team space doesn't have any projects currently, so we're just going to add it to no project within that space. So let's hit move and once we've done that, you'll see if we go over to the product team space.

There we go. So that study is now part of the space, which is great. So I guess the key thing to remember here is you get to control which members have access to which spaces, and therefore they can only see the studies that they have access to within the spaces that you've given them access to.

So, you can change that at any time. So if you go to the top here, you can see managed members, and this is a way to add more members to the space, or if you want to, you can also remove people at any given time. So let's do that for now. And as soon as you hit that button, they've removed access. So just remember that members only see the spaces they belong to.

Cool. Let's hit close. So hopefully that gives you a good idea of how Spaces can help your team organize research a bit better. And the other half of this is Wallets. So let's jump into our credits page. So wallets let you allocate and track budgets by Space. So this will give your team more power while still maintaining organizational oversight.

Let's create a new Wallet to show how that works. So down here we're going to see this option for new wallet. We'll hit that and we'll give it a name. So for today, we're going to call that product research, and once we're happy with the name, we're going to hit create. It gives you the option to connect a space.

We'll do that in a second, but for now I'll just show you how that looks. So you can see product research Wallet now exists. It's got no credits attached. And I guess the key thing with a wallet is you want some credits. So let's have a look at how we do that. So at the top here, we've got a primary wallet that currently has a balance of 350 credits.

So let's take some of those credits from the primary wallet and put it into our newly created product research wallet. We'll hit the transfer button here, and this gives you the choice to pick which wallet that your credits come from and which wallet you want to put them in. We're going to put them into our new product research wallet and we'll put maybe 200 credits.

As soon as we hit confirm, you will see that those credits have instantly been transferred. So now there's 200 credits available to the product research wallet. And the last kind of critical step is connecting a space. So the wallet assigns credits to whatever spaces are connected. So what we're going to do is we're going to hit connect.

And then we're going to see a list of all the different spaces within our account, and we're going to choose our brand new product team space. And we're going to connect that. And what that means is any study that lives within that product team space will have access to this newly created wallet. You can add as many different spaces to a wallet if you like.

So for now, we're just gonna keep one, we're going to hit done, and there we have it. So that's the kind of key oversight. One thing to note is when you go buy credits. Whenever you add new credits to your account, they're instantly going to be added to your primary wallet, and then from there you can transfer them to a managed wallet down below.

Cool. And the last thing we'll probably show you now is what it looks like to place an order with those credits. So I'm gonna go to this newly added study and we're going to hit the recruit button. We're going to place a panel order, and as you can see down the bottom here, once we have loaded it in.

That this study requires a hundred credits and that's going to come out of our product research wallet, which has 200 credits, which we've just assigned. So that just goes to show that the study that lives within the product team space has access to the wallet that we just attached. So that means we can place that order now if we like, and it will take the credits from the right space.

Great. And so hopefully that gives you a pretty good overview of how Wallets work. We are super stoked to see how Spaces and Wallets are going to give research teams the structure and budget and control that they need. Spaces is now available on free, starter, and growth plans and closed spaces and wallets are available to our enterprise customers.

We'd love for you to give it a go and let us know how you find it. Thanks.
